A Look Back At The Jazz of January
About DeviantDolls
DeviantDolls is a club in appreciation of women.
There are so many beautiful ladies out there, artists and models (and both at the same time!) and the point of this club is to showcase art based around the female form. This can be any type of art - photography, photomanipulation, painting, vectors, poetry etc - honouring the fabulousness, glamourousness and deliciousness of women!
January's Submissions
This is just a sample of the gorgeous work in the DeviantDolls gallery that was uploaded this month. These are just pieces that catch my eye & the status of the artist is not a factor. links are provided to the original images to discourage favourites as we do not allow them at deviantdolls

100 Monthly: Traditional Art
Traditional Art
There's not much I can say about Traditional Art other than it is one of my favourites. So I'll just let the art speak for itself, considering NightIce and the artists had lengthy things to say.

Commentary by: NightIce
1. Cold by Syntheta-NZ

This particular piece is quite expertly drawn; with not much more than a pair of eyes, face and a single hand, it manages to instil a dramatic, profound sense of the unknown, almost having a forbidding quality, into the viewer. The two components of this picture which jump out at me the most are the eyes and the metallic ring, both of which are impressively rendered with almost photographic precision, adding to the depth and realism of the piece. That said, the pencil work and shading on the whole is very skillfully done, and the black clothing surrounding the subject’s head creates a contrast which suits the picture nicely. A masterful drawing if I ever saw one.

The art in art
Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, in Anciano, a village near the town of Vinci, territory of Florence. In 1466 Leonardo was apprenticed to one of the most proficient artists of his day, Andrea di Cione, known as Verrocchio. The workshop of this famous master was at the centre of the intellectual currents of the day. Among those who were apprenticed or associated with the workshop were Perugino, Botticelli, and Lorenzo di Credi, assuring the young Leonardo of an advanced education in all branches of the humanities. From around 1482 to 1498, Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, employed Leonardo and permitted him to operate his own workshop, complete with apprentices. It was here that seventy tons of bronze that had been set aside for Leonardo's "Gran Cavallo" horse statue was cast into weapons for the Duke in an attempt to save Milan from the French under Charles VIII in 1495. He moved on after two months to Venice (where he was hired as a military engineer), then

Unseen Animal Artists Vol. 2
Have you ever browsed around the Animal section in Paintings or Drawings? I bet a lot of you have not! I don’t know why you people are not looking through it because there are a lot of great unseen animal art out there. Since not many people are looking through all of the great animal drawings and paintings, I thought I would bring some of the good ones to you!
Here is my second issue. There are many more great drawings and paintings. I thought I would clear up some things in this issue. All of these pieces of artwork in this issue and in the next ones to come have 100 or less views. In the first I noticed that some had like 300+ so from now on to get in you have to have 100 or less views for the piece of artwork.
:star: All of the artists have allowed me to use their work in my news entry. I would like to thank all of the artists, if they had not gave me permission, there would be no article! :( :star:
:bulletred: We will start off with twenty unseen but great animal paintings! I

The Joy of Black and White...episode 3
:star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star:[Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!]
This is a new weekly feature I thought might be interesting.
I will showcase what i feel is some of the best black and white art that I have come across during the week.
For the most part it will consist of art from the section Traditional art-drawings-portraits and figures....because that's where i do most of my browsing.....however it's not limited to that, there will also be some photography,macabre/horror or pretty much anything black and white.
I hope you enjoy this feature and I hope that everyone can appreciate the beaty of black and white.
[Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!][Star!]
This week will showcase Pencil Portraits......
Lovely and beatiful to look at but a very tricky and disciplined area.
I hope you enjoy......:D :D :D

FAQ
**TraditionAmbition...what? **
What is TraditionAmbition all about?
There so much beautiful pieces of traditional art throughout dA, but it seems to remain unnoticed (excluding anime) & lost amidst doodles etc. With the idea taken from PhotoLust i've decided to start an account which works in pretty much the same way, but only includes images from the traditional art section.
This is NOT a club, so you can't join, but do show your interested by :+devwatch: watching & putting your suggestions forward.
devWATCH you?
Yes, by adding TraditionAmbition to your devWATCH & making sure to tick the journals box you will be notified regularly of the recent updates & many features.

TraditionAmbition Updates

All i can say is sorry for not updating for 4 months! Had so much going on I just couldn't fit in any time on here, including my own account.

Anyhoop, i'm back now & hopefully it will stay this way for a long while yet :) Also, i would've posted a week ago but i've only just been able to spare money for a sub.

I had a bit of a dabble at the CSS aswell, make it look a bit prettier. Only problem is the gap between the title & the text. I've got no padding there or owt, anyone know how i can lessen it?

Many Wishes
